McKnight's Recognizes Tapestry Telehealth

Updated: Oct 15, 2018

ABCM Corp. in Hampton, Iowa, received Innovator Bronze for its use of the Tapestry Telehealth platform as part of McKnight’s 2018 Excellence in Technology Awards.

McKnight’s Long-Term Care News is the pre-eminent national magazine for long-term caregiving professionals, especially those in skilled nursing. The magazine sponsors the prestigious award program.

Tapestry Telehealth announced in August 2018 that ABCM Corp. had finalized implementation of advanced telemedicine models at seven of its rural rehabilitation and long-term care facilities in northcentral and southeastern Iowa.

The program assigns a dedicated practitioner to each facility, where clinicians are available on weekdays and on demand to work virtually with on-site nursing teams as part of regular and scheduled rounds.

Staff at the ABCM facilities had high praise for Tapestry Telehealth’s model, saying it dramatically impacted the level of care they were able to provide to their patients, especially because of the dedicated clinicians and specialist that Tapestry makes available to assist in care.

ABCM Corp. has launched the program in the following facilities:

  • Bloomfield Care Center - Bloomfield, Davis County

  • Lake Mills Care Center - Lake Mills, Winnebago County

  • Manor House Care Center - Sigourney, Keokuk County

  • Morning Sun Care Center - Morning Sun, Louisa County

  • Rehabilitation Center of Belmond - Belmond, Wright County

  • Rehabilitation Center of Hampton - Hampton, Franklin County

  • Westview Care Center - Britt, Hancock County

ABCM Corp. uses the Tapestry Telehealth platform to provide their rural nursing facilities with daily primary care, psychiatry and specialty physician services. The McKnight’s award proves this is a winning combination for patients and skilled nursing homes entrusted with their care.
